Lesson learned
The other day in my quiet time I was listening to a song by Lisa Gungor called "paradox of faith" one of the choruses said "why do some prayers seem to be unanswered in return they cause our hope to faulter may hope be found not in what I pray for my hope is in your name. "
This made me think of the many different prayers I've prayed that I feel have not been answered yet when in reality I just don't like the answer.
Later that same day there was a child in my class who was having a hard time resting at naptime. She continued to ask for the same things over and over. Even though I had answered her she did not like the answers and continued to get more and more worked up asking the same questions over and over. The child finally came to the point of exhaustion and I picked her up and took her to the rocking chair to help he calm her body and rest. All the while she was still asking the same questions. Until after a while of rocking and singing she fell asleep.
As I reflected on this and thought of what I had heard that morning I teared up wondering how many times it had come down to this between God and I. How many times hav I gone to the point of exhaustion in repeating prayers to th point that the Lord finally picks me up in my distress and gently rocks me into peace.
Thanks be to God that He does not lose patience and that He is merciful to provide peace and strength to follow His will. May Hod bless us all with this reminder that He always hears us an always takes care to do His will in our lives.
