Orbital Cellulitis
Yeah you read that right...I don't know if I spelled it right but I recently had a wonderful case of it. It is a skin infection around your eye that can be very leathal. Luckily I got to the doctor in time and he was able to give me a bunch of horse pill size penicillan (sp?) to take care of the infection but he did say that I was very close to having to go to the hospital for IV drugs had I waited much longer to come in. So I am thankful that the Lord and my roommate and mother gave me the common sense to get into the doctor. I have to tell you that it was a scary situation when I heard the word cellulitis becuase of all the problems that has caused my mom with her health. But the Lord was able to teach me more about peace through it.
My computer also has a virus right now! There is a message on it that says my system has been shut down due to a major malfunction. Not much I can do about that right now so I am just relying on the wonderful good graces of my roommates to let me use their computers.
I mention all of this not to vent or tell you Woe is me, but to give you some background into what God has been teaching me lately. A couple of weeks ago I cam across the verse in Psalms that says "Seek peace and persue it" I read this and though how in the world do I persue peace? I think I know how to seek it in situations or at least choose it but to persue it I was at a loss. So then God gave me these situations which in the grand scheme of things are not that huge but definitly disrubt my life, to be able to put what I had read into action. And you know what it was easier than I thought. Once I started seeking peace in these situations it was easier to persue it in other areas of my life. To be able to seek and persue peace even in times of peace not just when the situation arises that I need it. Does that make sense??
So it has been a good couple of days to be able to rest in that. And to know that God is at work in the peaceful times just as much as He is in the crisis times.
Please pray for the team and our students as we go on retreat this weekend and learn more abot how God wants to use us in this time in our lives. What it means to have the love of Christ control us.
